Making our public articles available to the public again
Since Seeking Alpha put up the hard paywall on our public content, we're not able to reach as many of our regular readers. Substack offered to solve that problem.
Perhaps you’ve enjoyed our work on Seeking Alpha for years? You may have been disappointed when Seeking Alpha abruptly introduced a paywall on our public articles. We’ve had two kinds of articles for many years:
Subscriber articles
Public articles
The subscriber articles required a paid membership to our service, but the public articles were available for everyone. Then a paywall went up where everything became inaccessible for many readers. We still want readers to be able to enjoy our public articles for free. That’s the nature of them being public.
By signing up here, you’ll get access to those free articles. They can be delivered to your inbox and you can read them on our page here. We researched carefully before deciding how we wanted to deliver the research. We tested a few platforms to see which one would enable us to provide readers with the best experience.
I hope you’ll enjoy it. This isn’t a decision we made lightly. By providing our public articles here, we are declining the compensation Seeking Alpha provides for exclusive articles. This was a big choice, but we feel connecting with our readers is more important.
Since we’re able to publish here without editorial review, our followers on Substack will get our public articles before they come out on Seeking Alpha. Further, the articles here will occasionally include extra sections which are not present in the “public” release.
